Vietnam Airlines Boosts Southeast Asian Routes From Hanoi

Vietnam Airlines has announced plans to improve Hanoi’s connectivity to other Southeast Asian capitals with a new route and frequency increases. Beginning 16 June 2011, the Skyteam member will launch a direct Hanoi – Kuala Lumpur flight and fly the Hanoi – Singapore route 11 times each week, while the Hanoi – Bangkok service will operate twice daily from 16 July 2011.



Daily Nonstop Hanoi – Kuala Lumpur, Schedule Adjustments for Ho Chi Minh City – Kuala Lumpur

The airline’s new direct service replaces its existing 1-stop flight via Ho Chi Minh City. Flight VN 751 will depart Hanoi at 1445 hrs, arriving in Kuala Lumpur at 1850 hrs. The return flight, VN 750, takes off from Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 1855 hrs and lands at Noi Bai International Airport at 2110 hrs.



To improve aircraft utilisation, Vietnam Airlines is adjusting the timings for its double-daily Ho Chi Minh City – Kuala Lumpur services. Flight VN 757 will depart Ho Chi Minh City at 1000 hrs, arriving in Kuala Lumpur at 1250 hrs before returning as flight VN 756 at 1400 hrs to Tan Son Nhat International Airport, where it arrives at 1450 hrs. The second flight, VN 753, takes off from Ho Chi Minh City at 1505 hrs and lands in Kuala Lumpur at 1755 hrs, with the return VN 752 departing the Malaysian capital at 1950 hrs for a 2040 hrs arrival back in Vietnam.



4 Additional Hanoi – Singapore Flights Each Week, Second Daily Hanoi – Bangkok Flight

The Hanoi-based carrier will also raise frequencies on its Hanoi – Singapore route with 4 additional flights each week from 16 June 2011. Flight VN 747 will depart Hanoi at 1400 hrs on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, arriving in Singapore at 1820 hrs. The return flight, VN 746, takes off from Changi International Airport at 1920 hrs to land back at Noi Bai International Airport at 2145 hrs.



From 16 July 2011, Vietnam Airlines will also double its flights between Hanoi and Bangkok, with a new afternoon service to connect with the Thai capital’s many evening departures to Europe and North America. Flight VN 833 will depart Hanoi at 1615 hrs and arriving in Bangkok at 1805 hrs before returning as flight VN 832 at 1905 hrs, where it lands back at Noi Bai International Airport at 2055 hrs.



Vietnam Airlines will be operating its 184-seat Airbus A321 aircraft on all the routes.
