Vietnam airline bắt đầu bay HCM -Yangon từ 11-2010
From 15NOV10, Vietnam Airlines is introducing 4 weekly Ho Chi Minh City – Yangon service on board Airbus A320 aircraft. Overall frequency to Myanmar’s capital increases from 5 to 9 weekly as a result. (It already operates Hanoi – Yangon route)

Thứ ba, 14/09/2010 12:15 PM Ông Đoàn Quốc Việt - Chủ tịch Hội đồng quản trị Air Mekong cho biết tổ bay của hãng đã bắt đầu tiếp nhận nhiên liệu, tập luyện để sẵn sàng khởi động chuyến bay thương mại đầu tiên mừng đại lễ 1.000 năm Thăng Long.
Ngày 23/9 tới, hãng bắt đầu mở bán vé trên hệ thống các đại lý, cửa hàng bán vé trên toàn quốc. Theo kế hoạch, hãng sẽ bay tới 8 điểm với 33 chuyến mỗi ngày.

Hôm qua, Air Mekong đã ký thỏa thuận mua nhiên liệu với Công ty Xăng dầu Hàng không (Vinapco). Theo hợp đồng, Vinapco sẽ cung cấp xăng máy bay cho hãng hàng không này trong khoảng thời gian một năm. Hiện 4 chiếc máy bay của Air Mekong đã bơm đủ xăng để tập luyện, sẵn sàng thực hiện chuyến bay thương mại đầu tiên từ TP HCM đi Hà Nội vào ngày 10/10 tới.
Air Mekong chưa công bố giá vé cụ thể, tuy nhiên, theo ông Việt, các mức sẽ nằm trong khung phê duyệt của Bộ Tài chính và Cục Hàng không Việt Nam.
Trong đó, chặng Hà Nội - Phú Quốc có mức giá cao nhất 2,5 triệu đồng. Các chặng còn lại như Hà Nội - TP HCM có mức cao nhất ngang với các hãng hàng không khác là 2,1 triệu đồng. Các mức này đã bao gồm thuế VAT, phí sân bay...
Theo ông Việt, thị trường hàng không được đánh giá là tiềm năng và còn nhiều cửa cho các doanh nghiệp tham gia. Tuy nhiên, kinh nghiệm từ những hãng đi trước như Indochina Airlines cho thấy giai đoạn đầu lỗ rất khó tránh khỏi. "Chúng tôi không cạnh tranh trực tiếp với các hãng đang hoạt động mà cố gắng tìm điểm ngách. Air Mekong hy vọng sẽ rút ngắn được khoảng thời gian lỗ so với các hãng khác", ông Việt cho biết.
Nguồn tin từ Air Mekong cũng tiết lộ về khả năng hãng sẽ bán 30% cổ phần cho nhà đầu tư ngoại.
Air Mekong là hãng hàng không tư nhân thứ ba được cấp phép tại Việt Nam, sau VietJet Air và Hãng hàng không Đông Dương (Indochina Airlines). Thị trường hàng không nội địa đang được khai thác bởi Vietnam Airlines, Công ty bay dịch vụ hàng không (Vasco) và Jetstar Pacific. Còn Indochina Airlines đã ngừng bay vào cuối tháng 10/2009, sau chưa đầy một năm khai thác.

“The inclusion of China Airlines in our network will solidify SkyTeam’s unrivalled presence in the Greater China market, a region that continues to experience significant economic growth,” said Leo van Wijk. “In addition to the services provided by our existing members, China Airlines offers an extensive cross-strait operation, linking Taiwan to multiple major destinations in China. Also, Taipei will serve as an alternative Asian hub with services to and from key business destinations in the region.”
